The fourth lecture of the 2021 Ömer Engin Lütem Lectures was held online on 25 March 2021. The main speaker of the lecture titled “The Akhi Type Armenian Organizations in the Middle Ages: Brotherhoods (Եղբայրություններ) (Orta Çağ’da Ahilik Tarzı Ermeni Birlikleri: Kardeşlikler (Եղբայրություններ))” was Erdi Öztürk, a PhD student of the Department of History at Hacettepe University.

18 MARCH ÇANAKKALE VICTORY AND COMMEMORATION OF MARTYRS DAY

On the occasion of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Commemoration of Martyrs Day, as the staff of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we commemorate with respect and gratitude the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms, our glorious martyrs who lost their lives at Çanakkale, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel, all public employees, and their family members who lost their lives during their assignments abroad as a result of the terror attacks perpetrated by ultranationalist Armenian groups.

On 9 March 2021, AVİM organized a webinar titled “Turkish-Armenian Relations In The American Legal And Political Arenas - Part I” at the which the speakers were David Saltzman and Günay Evinch (Övünç). The webinar was dedicated to the discussion of the present-day reflections of the issues in Turkish-Armenian relations onto the legal and political system of the United States. This webinar constitutes the first part in a series of three webinars that are planned to be organized in this context.

The third lecture of the 2021 Ömer Engin Lütem Conferences was held online on 4 March 2021. The main speaker of the lecture titled “The Ottoman-Armenian Relocation in Context” was Prof. Dr. Edward J. Erickson. In this presentation, the focus was on Prof. Dr. Erickson’s recently published book, “A Global History of Relocation in Counterinsurgency Warfare.”
