Dear Readers,
Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), is pleased that our “Eurasian World” journal has entered its second publication year with this issue. Virtually in direct proportion with our anniversary, significant developments have occurred in the Eurasian region during the same period. Foremost among these developments, undoubtedly, was the legal status of the Caspian Sea, which has remained unresolved for twenty years, finally coming to a conclusion. As a matter of fact, the five littoral countries on the coast of the Caspian Sea (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan) achieved this by signing an agreement on 12 August 2018 in Aktau. You will find three different articles on our pages that examine this topic from different angles. On the other hand, we have touched upon the remarkable developments in the energy pipelines field which certainly increase the strategic coefficient of Eurasia with several articles we grouped under the same title. In this way, we have continued our tradition of focusing on a special subject in every issue. We hereby present our 3rd issue which covers the analysis and evaluations about the developments in the Eurasian region by Turkish and foreign academicians and experts. While always ready to welcome any opinion and/or contribution from our readers, we extend our thanks for the interest shown for the “Eurasian World”.
