Editor's Note

Dear Readers,

We are pleased to present the fourth issue of “Eurasian World” to your kind perusal.

In this issue, while examining on the one hand the current developments in the broad Eurasian geography during the last six months (for example, the resolution of Macedonia’s name issue with mutual agreement by the interested parties) on the other hand, we have aimed at focusing on several issues of interest in our geography.

For the first time in this issue, we have addressed the Cyprus problem. We present hereby the article titled “A New Chapter: Time for Cooperation in Cyprus” about the viewpoint of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus regarding this problem which has been awaiting a solution for a long time. In this article, you will read about the efforts of the Turkish Cypriot side to solve the problem, why and by whom these efforts were not reciprocated and which party to the conflict hopes to benefit from the continuation of the status quo. The article is penned by H.E. Kemal Köprülü, the Ambassador of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Ankara and we hope that our readers not so well-versed in the issue will have the opportunity to take a look at the Cyprus issue from a different perspective.

And of course, we have not forgotten the principle of focusing on a specific topic in every issue. Indeed, in this edition, we examine the water problem across Eurasia but especially in Central Asia. You will find three different articles in our pages dealing with this problem of vital importance for the peoples of this geography.

As always, may we remind you that we are open to any comments and contributions, and we thank you for your continued interest in our journal.
