On 12 December 2019, Instructor Dr. Onur Önol, a member of Basic Sciences Unit at TED University, spoke at a conference titled “Rus Kışı: Çarlık Hükümeti ve Taşnaksutyun Davası (1908-1912) (Russian Winter”: Tsarist government and the Case of Dashnaksutyun (1908-1912)) that was held at AVİM.

S.RES.150 WILL PASS WITH 116TH CONGRESS, AS TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION ARE FURTHER DELAYED

S.Res.150 will pass with 116th congress, as truth and reconciliation are further delayed.

5TH GREEK – TURKISH YOUNG LEADERS SYMPOSIUM WAS HELD IN KAVALA ON 4-7 DECEMBER 2019

The Greek-Turkish Young Leaders Symposium on Security (4-7 December 2019) organized by NATO, Kadir Has University Center for International and European Studies (CIES), the Navarino Network and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, held in Kavala, Greece, where Greek and Turkish people came together from different proficiencies such as political science, journalism, and public sector.

The conference proceedings book of the international conference titled “The Centennial of the Independence of the Three South Caucasus States: Historical Background, Contemporary Developments and Prospects of Peace and Prosperity” organized by AVIM and held in Ankara on 9 November 2018 has been published.

On the centennial of the start of the National War of Liberation, we, at Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), remember once again the martyrs and veterans, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow fighters, with respect and our deepest gratitude.

THE 39TH ISSUE OF THE REVIEW OF ARMENIAN STUDIES JOURNAL HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The newly published 38th issue of the Review of Armenian Studies journal contains 4 articles.

PROFESSOR NORMAN STONE BURIED IN TURKEY

It was quite well-known that Professor Norman Stone loved Turkey and considered the country his second homeland. In accordance with his will, Professor Stone, who passed away in Budapest was brought to Istanbul and buried in the Protestant cemetery on Wednesday, 3 July, 2019. Attended by his family, friends, colleagues and his students, the burial ceremony created one more occasion to recall the virtues of a great man and historian. Professor Norman Stone will now forever be missed and remembered in this country, which now also became his eternal home.
