National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji confirmed on Monday to the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, that the Iraqi government had conducted a series of contacts to stop the ongoing war.

The media office of the National Security Advisor stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan,the meeting addressed the developments in the military operations in the region and their repercussions on security and stability."

Al-Araji affirmed that "the Iraqi government has conducted a series of contacts with its brothers and friends to halt the ongoing war," expressing his hope for "an end to the escalation through a concerted international diplomatic effort that contributes to stopping military operations and returning to dialogue and understanding, ultimately leading to the achievement of lasting peace in the region."
