BOOK REVIEW: GREEK ATROCITIES IN ANATOLIA ACCORDING TO ITALIAN SOURCES (1919-1922) - Mevlüt ÇELEBİ

The book titled “Greek Atrocities in Anatolia According to Italian Sources (1919-1922)” and written by Mevlüt Çelebi will take its place as one of the most valuable studies on the subject. The book is prepared on the basis of very rich and original sources, the majority of which are Italian archival documents and the Italian newspapers of the period, and fills a very important gap in the literature on this subject.

WORKSHOP ON "WATER SECURITY IN THE EUPHRATES-TIGRIS BASIN AND THE EUROPEAN UNION WATER FRAMEWORK DIRECTIVE" HELD

On March 12, 2024, a workshop titled "Water Security in the Euphrates-Tigris Basin and the European Union Water Framework Directive" was organized by the Ankara University European Communities Research and Application Center (ATAUM), the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), and the Hydropolitics Association. The event took place at the ATAUM Board of Directors Hall.

Türkiye celebrates the victory of 102 years ago under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk that concluded the Turkish War of Liberation. As AVİM, we wholeheartedly join the celebrations of our people’s and country's 30 August Victory Day.

THE 49TH ISSUE OF THE REVIEW OF ARMENIAN STUDIES JOURNAL HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The newly published 49th issue of the Review of Armenian Studies journal contains 4 articles and 1 book review.

BOOK TITLED “THE TRUTH WILL OUT” PUBLISHED

The tragic events of the First World War, the ebb and flow of the calamities of war in the Eastern Anatolia front, including the relocation and resettlement of some of the Armenian population in specific areas has become a topic construed out of context and abused for political ends to hammer Türkiye and the Turkish people. Retired Ambassador Pulat Y. Tacar has studied this subject extensively from a legal-judicial point of view and has published numerous articles on the subject.

A NEW CONFERENCE BOOK BY AVİM IN COOPERATION WITH KAS-TÜRKİYE: “EU-TÜRKİYE COOPERATION IN CENTRAL ASIA AND SOUTH CAUCASUS: TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE ENGAGEMENT IN ENERGY AND CONNECTIVITY”

AVİM’s new conference book published in cooperation with the KAS-Türkiye contains texts and summaries of the speeches and presentations delivered at the conference titled “EU-Türkiye Cooperation in Central Asia and South Caucasus: Towards a Sustainable Engagement in Energy and Connectivity” that was organized on 22 February 2024 in Ankara. The last part of the book is an overview of the main points commonly raised at the conference.

On the occasion of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Commemoration of Martyrs Day, as the staff of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we commemorate with respect and gratitude the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms, our glorious martyrs who lost their lives at Çanakkale, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel, all public employees, and their family members who lost their lives during their assignments abroad as a result of the terror attacks perpetrated by ultranationalist Armenian groups.
