AKIPRESS (29 July 2024)

The borderline between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is defined at 94% and it is expected the border will be reopened soon, after 3 years of closure," Sughd region governor Rajabboi Ahmadzoda told a press conference, Asia-Plus reported.

"94% of the borderline is fully defined. We believe the issue will be resolved positively in the nearest time. Representatives of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan visited the disputed areas in Chorkuh and Voruh on July 21-24. The bilateral commission is very active. Hopefully, the documents will be signed in the nearest months," Ahmadzoda said.

Governor Ahmadzoda has not specified the location of remaining 6% of disputed territories.
