It’s becoming a thing — another week, another meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels.

As was the case earlier this month and at the leaders’ retreat in February, defense spending is top of mind. The main topic will be Ukraine, of course, as the bloc continues to show its support for Kyiv while the Trump administration loses interest.

While there is a long list of topics to be discussed, from competitiveness to the Middle East to energy, the overarching aim of the gathering is to find the money and draft the rules needed to turn the bloc into a military superpower.
