Iraq's President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed on Thursday Iraq's commitment to building balanced relations with friendly and brotherly nations.

A statement from the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met with the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturian, as part of a series of meetings he is holding within the framework of his participation in the International Forum for Peace and Confidence."

The statement added that "during the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for joint cooperation were reviewed. The President of the Republic affirmed Iraq's commitment to building balanced relations with friendly and brotherly nations that serve common interests and consolidate stability, development, and cooperation between the two countries in various fields."
