Parliamentarians of the Italy-Armenia Friendship Group have issued a statement supporting the call for swift signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.

 According to the Armenian Embassy in Italy, the statement reads:

"Last week, Armenia and Azerbaijan confirmed that they have finalized the text of a peace agreement that could end the nearly 40-year conflict in the South Caucasus. The announcement came while members of the parliamentary friendship group of the National Assembly of Armenia were in Italy. The European Union, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, China, Russia, NATO, the Holy See, and many other countries immediately welcomed the news, expressing hope that the agreement would be signed as soon as possible."
