UZBEKISTAN TO INTRODUCE REVISED LATIN ALPHABET IN APRIL 2027

Uzbekistan will introduce a revised version of its Latin-based Uzbek alphabet on 22 April 2027 under a law signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 21 October 2026.
Documents, national currency and securities issued before the law takes effect will remain valid and may continue to circulate even if they contain letters from the previous version of the alphabet.
