The Ministry of Defense confirmed on Monday that Iraq has started to earn advanced positions in the field of military in the region.

“The Ministry of Defense has developed a vision and strategy regarding drones for surveillance and target acquisition missions that require high accuracy and location in areas with complex geography. These aircraft have become a necessity for modern armies," said the Director of the Media and Moral Guidance Directorate at the Ministry of Defense, Major General Tahseen al-Khafaji, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He explained, "Iraq has consistently possessed advanced drones, and we have a strategic plan and work to use this type of aircraft. The Army Aviation Command and the Military Intelligence Directorate possess a number of advanced aircraft capable of carrying out surveillance missions. There is a plan to use other types of aircraft with significant and advanced capabilities in target acquisition, anti-jamming, and dealing with electronic warfare environments."
