Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed on Thursday Iraq's position in support of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. He also indicated that regional countries are seeking a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Jerusalem, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the Foreign Minister said, "Iraq's paper at the ministerial meeting discussed the geographical and demographic changes taking place in Jerusalem."
