Iraq's Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized on Sunday the importance of elevating Iraqi-Turkish relations to broader levels of cooperation and partnership.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan."

According to the statement, the Prime Minister stressed "the importance of elevating Iraqi-Turkish relations to broader levels of cooperation and partnership, in light of the positive outcomes of his visit and meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, which resulted in the signing of several memoranda of understanding and agreements in the economic, developmental, energy, water, transportation, and trade sectors, in a way that achieves common interests and supports opportunities for development and prosperity in the region."
