Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy, Almassadam Satkaliyev, recently led a delegation to the People's Republic of China to strengthen bilateral energy cooperation.

In Beijing, Minister Satkaliyev met with Han Wang, head of China’s State Energy Administration, and Liu Chunsheng, Deputy Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of China. The discussions centered on advancing collaboration in nuclear energy, oil and gas, electric power, and renewable energy sources.

China expressed strong support for Kazakhstan’s nuclear energy ambitions, including its project to construct a nuclear power plant (NPP). The Minister also engaged with Shen Yanfeng, General Director of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), a leading contender for supplying nuclear technology for the project.
