Matviyenko meets Azerbaijan’s National Assembly speaker on sidelines of 152nd General Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul

Russia’s Federation Council chairwoman said on Thursday that Moscow seeks to bolster ties with Baku during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s National Assembly speaker Sahiba Gafarova.

"We aim to strengthen ties with Azerbaijan,” Valentina Matviyenko was quoted as saying in a corresponding Federation Council statement on the meeting held on the sidelines of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul.
