On 16 October 2018, a round table meeting was held at AVİM, at which former Commander of the NATO Allied Land Command in İzmir and former Commander of the United States Army Europe Lieutenant General (Retired) Ben Hodges, who recently holds the Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at Washington, DC based Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) along with an US delegation, AVİM analysts and a number of academics from the universities in Ankara focusing on the Black Sea region and security studies participated.

At the meeting, the focal point of which was the Black Sea security, US delegation represented US’ perspectives on the Black Sea security and Turkey’s role in this context, whereas, in return, AVİM analysts and academics revealed the points that they agree and disagree with respect to those perspectives and expressed their views on the issue.
