Iraq's Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Monday for an official visit.

The Speaker's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, for an official visit lasting several days."

The statement added that "the visit comes within the context of strengthening joint parliamentary work with neighboring countries, to serve the peoples of the region."
