Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu has stated that the Greek Cypriot administration continues to pursue Enosis ambitions, marking the anniversary of EOKA’s attacks launched on April 1, 1955.

In a written statement, Ertuğruloğlu described EOKA as “one of the darkest and indelible stains in Cyprus history,” saying the group initiated a campaign of violence aimed at systematically eliminating the Turkish Cypriot people in pursuit of union with Greece.

He said the Turkish Cypriot community responded by uniting under the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT), exercising its right to self-defense and demonstrating to the world that it would never compromise its freedom.
