On the centennial of the start of the National War of Liberation, we, at Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), remember once again the martyrs and veterans, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow fighters, with respect and our deepest gratitude.

On 27 September 2019, Ambassador Shri Sanjay Bhattacharyya, Ambassador of India in Turkey, spoke at a conference titled “Indo-Pacific and India” that was held at AVİM.

THE LATEST ISSUE OF THE ERMENİ ARAŞTIRMALARI JOURNAL IS OUT

We are pleased to announce that the 63rd issue of the Ermeni Araştırmaları journal has been published. This issue consists of five articles in total, including an editorial and four research articles.

THE 39TH ISSUE OF THE REVIEW OF ARMENIAN STUDIES JOURNAL HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The newly published 38th issue of the Review of Armenian Studies journal contains 4 articles.

PROFESSOR NORMAN STONE BURIED IN TURKEY

It was quite well-known that Professor Norman Stone loved Turkey and considered the country his second homeland. In accordance with his will, Professor Stone, who passed away in Budapest was brought to Istanbul and buried in the Protestant cemetery on Wednesday, 3 July, 2019. Attended by his family, friends, colleagues and his students, the burial ceremony created one more occasion to recall the virtues of a great man and historian. Professor Norman Stone will now forever be missed and remembered in this country, which now also became his eternal home.

AVİM is in sorrow over the passing away of Prof. Norman Stone, member of the our instition's Editorial Board and our Review of Armenian Studies and Ermeni Aratırmaları journals' Editorial/Advisory Boards, on 18 June 2019 in Budapest.

THE PASSING AWAY OF JEAN-LOUIS MATTEI

AVİM is deeply saddened over the passing away of Mr. Jean-Louis Mattei on Saturday, 15 June 2019. Mr. Mattei was well-known for his historical research, book translations, and contributions to the Turkish-French cultural interaction.

CTCA CELEBRATES TURKISH CYPRIOT CULTURE AT THEIR TRAILBLAZING FESTIVAL FOR THE THIRD TIME

Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in Britain (CTCA UK), will hold their third Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival on Sunday, June 30 at Enfield Playing Fields, Donkey Lane. The event will once again bring together the Turkish Cypriot community to celebrate and share their culture with local people.

On 28 May 2019, Assist. Prof. Dr. Christopher Gunn, a member of Faculty at Coastal Carolina University, USA, spoke at a conference titled “Murder and Memory: Armenian Terrorism” that was held at AVİM.

A ROUND TABLE MEETING HOSTING IRANIAN DELEGATION WAS HELD AT AVİM ON THE TOPIC OF REGIONAL ISSUES

On 22 May 2019, a round-table meeting was organized at the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the Head of Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) H.E. Dr. Seyyed Kazem Sajjadpour, Ambassador of Iran in Ankara H.E. Mouhammad Farazmand, and scholars conducting research on Iran and regional issues.
